Winston County industries enjoy convenient access to major transportation routes centered on Louisville, the county seat and focal point for business and industry.

Highway routes, including one of the state’s primary arteries, Mississippi Hwy 25, connect Louisville to Jackson, Mississippi, to the Starkville-Columbus and Tupelo areas, and to other parts of Mississippi and neighboring states. Interchanges for Interstate 20 and Interstate 55 are within 65 miles of Louisville.

Rail cargo service is provided by Kansas City Southern Railway, with rail spurs into industrial sites and daily switching services in Louisville.

Air transportation is available at three airports: Jackson-Evers Municipal Airport (JAN), which is co-located with the Mississippi Air Cargo Logistics near Jackson; the Golden Triangle Regional Airport (GTR), located near Columbus, Mississippi; and the Louisville Municipal Airport, which serves general aviation aircraft.

Water transportation is provided by the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, accessible through the Lowndes County Port near Columbus. The waterway serves deepwater ports on the Gulf of Mexico at Biloxi and Mobile.
